The MA Drawing exhibition presents what happens when you bring together a group of people that are prepared to interrogate both drawing and themselves. They carry with them a diverse collection of experience, backgrounds and obsessions that they have exchanged with each other via their shared language of drawing, but spoken in many tongues. Drawing is a fundamental tool of thinking and communication, shared more widely than any other art form. Collectively and individually these students have expanded what a drawing might be.

Isabel Seligman is the Bridget Riley Art Foundation Exhibition Curator in the department of Prints and Drawings at the British Museum. She is working on a project encouraging art students to explore and take advantage of the museum’s vast graphic collection, comprising 50,000 drawings and over two million prints. She is the curator of the touring exhibition Lines of thought: Drawing from Michelangelo to now and author of the accompanying book published by Thames & Hudson.

This event is organised by DRAW (Drawing Research at Wimbledon), a postgraduate reading group focusing on interdisciplinary approaches to drawing.  DRAW is led by Tania Kovats, (Course Director, MA Drawing) and supported by UAL's Postgraduate Community.
