01 Feb - 30 Jun 2017

The Teaching and Learning Exchange invite you to the Pedagogy Reading Group sessions for 2016/17.

This is aimed at UAL staff or Postgrad students with an interest in Pedagogy.  Each session discusses a different text, but takes place twice to give more people the chance to attend.

Participants are invited to put forward readings for future sessions.

The next reading group will take place as follows:

Tues 14 Feb 5.00-6.30pm  High Holborn Rm 705
Mon 20 Feb  1.00-2.00pm  High Holborn Rm 705

The Text for Reading and Discussion

Malik, Suhail (2015) ‘//////’ in Sidsel Meineche Hansen & Tom Vandeputte (Eds.) Politics of Study: 5 (Occasional Table) Open Editions.

Malik argues for a rethink about the purpose of critical discourse in the arts university, positing that it and its users constitute a new privileged class. He argues both for a return to more directed pedagogies and alliances with para-academic initiatives that work at the edges of institutions.

A PDF copy of the text will be available to anyone signing up to attend the session.

How can I book a place?
